My first review and some suggestions

Overall the game is great I like playing tycoon games particularly train related there are some problems though 1 the steam locomotives that had tenders in real life need to have tenders and the right kind for that engine 2 I think it would be a good idea to be able to cross over track with out bridges and 3 I don’t know if this is a technical issue or an actual game feature but the different paint jobs particular the alternate ones when I get the correct color and paint job if I turn the switch that puts it on all the locomotives if it’s an alternate paint job it only puts it on the one I painted but besides all of that I give it a 9 out of 10

Someone wrote an inaccurate review. They mistakenly wrote that this game has minimal complexity. They must have been reviewing an earlier edition or a different game because this has all the complexity that the original Railroad Tycoon, which I owned in 1990. It’s a great game that requires building stations, laying tracks, finding resources, and connecting resources to different stations to earn greater revenue. You can play against 0 to 3 other AI players. It has multiple levels of complexity and 15 different scenarios. Now, whether the AI players are geniuses or not, I’m not sure, but that’s not been an issue. It’s still a fantastic game—very complex. Any review that says anything different is wrong.

So happy that Feral brought this to iPhone! Been waiting so long for this game to be portable so thanks so much for taking a great game and bringing to IPhone! Definitely recommend to all train enthusiasts and gamers! Wanted to ask a question to developers. I have all sounds effects up to the max, but the train whistles and any talking at the stations (like all aboard) I can barely hear, both of these were louder on the PC version. Is this something I can make louder? Or maybe a glitch that can be fixed? Thanks again!

If you remember this from when it came out on PC, the port is faithful and plays just the same. The trains and maps look great and the interface is fine once you figure out where everything is. It’s a fun, well designed game, but if what you’re looking for is a model train set, be forewarned. There is a sandbox mode, but the main game involves a lot more than laying tracks, choosing engines, and routing cargo. Stock prices, patents, changing markets, and cutthroat competitors all must be managed. For me that business layer is too prominent and saps some of the joy out of running your railroad. But not enough to keep me from recommending this if the premise sounds appealing. A lot of train joy still shines through.
