Angelshark: Sea Survival

Explore the sea floor as a fearsome, yet endangered, predator.

Take on the role of an endangered sea creature in Angelshark: Sea Survival as you hunt for fish, collect clams and avoid hazards. Although your main aim is to make it to the end of each level in one piece, you’ll earn more stars for completing bonus objectives such as collecting letters and smashing piles of debris.

What we love: As well as being fun to play, Angelshark: Sea Survival is an opportunity to learn about a fascinating species. Snappy facts pepper the gameplay, offering stories of the first time the angel shark was caught on film in 2021 and the time it was mistaken for a “merman priest” when it washed ashore in Scandinavia in the 16th century.

Swim around the seabed as an angel shark, collecting fish as you go.

Quick tip: The trick to dodging the game’s frequent trawler nets is to remember that they tend to sweep across the screen a little later than you’d expect. So wait for a beat after the flashing red warning sign for the danger to pass. Don’t worry too much if you do get caught, however, since you can get a second chance by responding correctly to a trivia question.

Meet the creator: On the Edge (OTE) Productions aims to raise awareness of environmental issues through TV, film, games and more. Its three previous games each focus on a different endangered species: the electric blue gecko (Electric Blue: Gecko Dash), Bhupathy’s purple frog (Save the Purple Frog) and the kakapo bird (Kakapo Run).
